I've been attending church with a friend of mine for the last 3 months. While I went to church as a child, I never accepted the concept of Jesus and God. Now as an adult, I find myself wondering about this life. I still have questions about things that will probably never make sense even if I would ever find an answer but nonetheless, I'm here with a specific question.

I don't know how to become a christian without denying who I am. I know that if I do become a christian, I question the acception of being gay in the church. Some churches accept it, others don't. I can't say that I feel comfortable or close enough to any of the members to discuss this with them. I'm also afraid that if I do out myself and it's not accepted, I'll be an outcast. I get the whole "if they treat you differently, then they aren't true christians because we're all to love everyone God loves." But I still feel that I'll be looked at differently.

Next week is the day they are taking new members. I don't feel right becoming a member of a church when I'm not a christian. Someone please help me.

I take it you are homosexual. If this is true, then we must begin there.

You should call (phone) a church pastor and ASK if they accept gays and their "lifestyle". If they do, you have found a religion that will accept you. Or, go to the yellow pages, look up a denomination: you'll find an answer there, or look up their website. It's that easy.

HOWEVER, if you are seeking the salvation that is offered in the Lord Jesus Christ, you need to repent. There is no need to go to ANY church, no need to "accept" any concepts, and you cannot "become" a Christian without repentance. Fact is, a person is placed in the Church of the Lord Jesus after one ...believes and is baptized...": then they receive the promise of salvation, which is God's Holy Spirit.

Have you repented? I think not: for you only seem to want to be "accepted" by the church as you are.

i find in todays social lives that we have many hang ups so the question is not what the church will except but what God will except. That brings us down to what do you want most Gods lifestyle or the worlds. Only you can make that decession.
