Now that is not so hard to understand. It amazing how many will argue with that teaching. The ones I have the most problems with are the preterism believers. They don't believe in a tribulation period of seven years, don't believe another temple will be built in Israel. Believe that Jesus came in 70 AD, which is really stupid since all things were not fulfilled yet, especially the preaching of the gospel through out the entire world, or, global world as the Greek references.
At the opening of the fifrh seal, I look at this as the beginning of the tribulation period. John saw the martyred saints of Jesus crying for vengence, vs.11 tells them to wait just a little longer for some of their fellow servents must die as they had. I think the little longer period is the 3 1/2 years (42 months) that the beast will war on the christian people and overcome them (Rev 13:7. Then the rapture.

As Sis. Lisa scriptures to start the thread: ( Matt. 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation) a great cosmic event will occur. The words of our Lord Jesus proclaims that it will happen. From the opening of the fifth seal until the opening of the sixth seal will be the tribulation period.
The Angel revealed unto John in the below scriptures at the opening of the sixth seal that a great cosmic event will happen like our Lord told his diciples about. At the opening of the sixth seal will start the 3 1/2 years (42 months) of the wrath of God.
Re 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Re 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Re 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
