Jesus is the propitiation for the sins of mankind by God the Father - given as gift for whosoeverwill. He isn't going to force anyone to take the gift or to believe in Him. Just as there are physical laws that govern the universe, there are also spiritual laws that govern your relationship with God. I mean, if you were to believe in God you would want it to be personal and not someone that just rules over you indignantly right? Well here's the simple truth...God made us to love us! Sounds too simple? Think about this, if God is all-knowing and all-powerful he would need nothing from us. But it is because He is the full incarnate of love, he created us.
I'm not asking what your religious or philosophical thoughts are but do you KNOW God personally? Do you know that you are never alone, abandoned, or unloved? Have you felt God touch you? Have you seen and heard what I have? You can have all those things....but first you must repent of your sins, be baptized in Jesus name, and get the Holy Ghost.
Your question is just a little confusing. The word christian was given to the early church in the book of Acts. it was given to them because they confessed to be followers of Jesus the Christ or, anointed one, which means Messiah to the Jews.
Today we use the word christian to associate people as Christ like, which in some cases may be inaccurate, but never the less that is the general consensus. To be a follower of Jesus Christ, which means one has totally surrender to the fact that Jesus was the messiah, the anointed one sent from God to be the sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. Christian also is someone who believes that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies that were foretold of him. In checking all the prophecies in the Old testament one will quickly see Jesus was the messiah.
If you will get on the web and just type in this info.
Davis k. Bernard When you get his page click on the Oneness of God. it is an excellent study on biblical scriptures showing the deity of Jesus, in fact it is one of the best studies I have ever encountered.
